Automatic Engineers was originally formed as a privately owned company in the mid 1960’s, but has undergone a number of changes in the ensuing years, most notably in March 1992. Mr Roger Tomlinson and Mr. Robert Clayfield, both senior managers with the company, orchestrated a successful management buy out.

In 2002 Automatic Engineers regained their market share of the trade within the precision engineering field and even went on to purchase adjacent property to facilitate the development of a fast response Machine Shop.

In January 2008, Steve Evans and Simon Lane joined the management team as Roger Tomlinson retired, bringing with them a fresh energy and more modern approach to the business.

Amongst other improvements, the most notable addition has been the purchase of an Hitachi Seiki TS15 CNC Lathe, allowing production times to increase signifcantly as Simon and Steve look to improve further on the already well established levels of customer service and commitment to high quality.
